Ms. Zeinab Eyega, founder and Executive Director of Sauti Yetu Center for African Women, is unwavering in her vision of a world–starting in New York City–where each and every person achieves their full potential. She provides strategic guidance and oversees daily operations of Sauti Yetu, while also engaging in national public policy advocacy and training.

Ms. Katharine Conroy is the Director of Research & Evaluation at Sauti Yetu. She oversees the agency’s data management, program evaluation and reporting activities. She also collaborates with Sauti Yetu’s clinical staff and the Bronx community to support the development of – and access to – culturally-attuned resources and services for African immigrants who have been affected by female genital cutting (FGC). Ms. Conroy has more than ten years of public health experience in the areas of grant writing and management; health education; research and evaluation; resource development; and web management. She has worked full time with Sauti Yetu since February 2021 but previously served as both an intern and consultant for The Hands Project. Ms. Conroy holds a Master of Public Health in epidemiology/molecular epidemiology from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

Ms. Ester DeLima is the Bookkeeper at Sauti Yetu. Ester manages and oversees billing and invoicing, payroll processes, and the overall financial management of Sauti Yetu. She has over 8 years of experience in accounting. Ester is fluent in English, French and various African dialects, such as Mina and Ewe. She received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Queens College.

Ms. Massange Kamara serves as Sauti Yetu’s social worker. She works with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault and culturally sanctioned forms of violence and provides individual counseling to her clients. She conducts multilingual outreach, training and events to increase awareness and understanding of rights and resources for New Yorkers. Massange has certified trainings in Child Abuse Reporting Education as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She is fluent in English, French and numerous West African languages, including Mandingo, Susa, Bambara, and Djoula. Massange received her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University’s School of Social Work.

Ms. Tiguidanke Keita is the Health & Wellness Case Manager and Outreach & Engagement Coordinator at Sauti Yetu. She has particular expertise in supporting those in need of health insurance and healthcare access, as well as individuals who have experienced female genital cutting (FGC). Ms. Hadjaratou Soumana serves as the Office Manager at Sauti Yetu. Hadjaratou has been with Sauti Yetu for more than seven years. She provides general administrative support with a variety of clerical and office related tasks in order to ensure office effectiveness and efficiency. She ensures the function and operational flow of Sauti Yetu as one of the first faces people interact with, responding to phone calls and inquiries and directing people to the appropriate program and staff. She is fluent in English and French. Hadjaratou received her Associate’s Degree in Public Health from the Institute of Public Health, Niamey Niger.

Ms. Consolatie Uwera is Sauti Yetu’s Project Manager. In this role, she oversees the planning and implementation of grant programming, and she also contributes to the planning and development of community-based health initiatives to help African and other immigrants build healthier, safer lives. Previously, Ms. Uwera served as a Program Manager and Community Wellness Outreach Coordinator. Ms. Uwera brings expertise in successfully reaching community members where they live, learn, and work. She believes in developing strong relationships in everything she does-respecting one’s culture, values, and attitudes to better serve the community. Ms. Uwera holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from New Jersey City University.
